After finishing as the first runner-up last year, Ethiopia’s Ulfata Gelata has won the 7th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon to emerge as the proud winner of the $30,000 prize money, his compatriot Dagne Siranesh Yirga finished ahead of all the other runners in the women’s category.
Gelata’s winning time of 2.11.54 second is now the second-fastest ever in the history of the annual 42km road race., the course record was set two years ago Kenyan Olympian David Barmasai winning with a course record of 2:10:00 .
