Edo state cyclists in the 200 meters sprint performed remarkably well, wining Gold in the male and female category at the Natina Sports Festival in Edo state.
Her athlete in the female category, Tombrapa Grikpa defeated Delta State’s Ese Ukpereseraye, who won the first Gold medal at the National Sports Festival to the Silver medal.
Tombrapa Grikpa and Ese Ukpeseraye were part of the African Continental Cycling Road Race Championship in Cairo
In the male category, African Champion Goodness Temple took the Gold while Isa Momoh representing Imo state won the Silver.
Surprisingly, the National Sports Festival defending Champion, Kalizibe Caleb got the bronze medal.
The team time trial is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
