Successful last year at the Aso Table Tennis National Championship , wining the silver medal  and the highest seeded player in the men’s singles this year , Ondo’s Mati Taiwo   experienced a somewhat surprise defeat in the round of 32 contest against Cross river’s Orok Etim , losing 3-1(11-4 , 11-8 , 11-7 , 11-9) .

 

Defeat in similar scenario in the women’s category, Delta’s Ajoke Ajomo won the first set but eventually lost to Esther Oribamise 3-1, the previous day, the National Gold meddallist narrowly sail to victory wining 3-2 against Sukurat Aiyelagbegan.

 

2020 NSF Gold medallist, Omeh Amadi defeated Yusuf Olabisi of Oyo 3-0, Succcess for Amadi followed Success for Fagbami Akinlade of Ondo, who fought hard  against Ayanwale Jamiu of Delta state , wining 3-2 ( 11-4 , 11-9 , 6-11 , 9-11, 11-7) .

 

Defending Champion, Fatimo Bello ended the hope of Hope Udoka to secure a spot in the final eight with a 3-0 victory (11-5, 11-8, 11, 8), a surprise inclusion in the final eight of the womn’s singles in Akeem Saidat of Oyo state.

 

Asaju Bisola of NSCDC experienced defeat in the hands of Hussain Halima, losing 3-1, (11-5, 13-11, 7-11, 11-5,).

 

Another eye catching result saw Shoretire Aobami of Edo fall victim to an early exit as Defendng Champion and Delta’s Azeez Solanke produce a magnificient showing claiming a 3-2 victory (11-2, 8-11, 15-3, 11-9, 11-6).
