Nigeria’s Fatimo Bello emerge winner of the inaugural ITTF Western Africa Challenge that took place in the city of Abidjan , the capital of Ivory Coast .
Fatimo , who defeated her compatriot , Esther Oribamise 4-2 to win the women’s singles , after recovering from a two nil deficit has earlier defeated Benin’s Ziadeth Olaide 4-0 in the semi-final , while Esther overcame host nation’s Kamenan Nadia in the other semifinal game .
On the contrast , Nigeria’s duo of Emmanuel Augustine and Ayanwale Jamiu couldn’t make to the final as they lost out in the quarterfinals .
Emmanuel was defeated by the eventual winner and host nation’s flagbearer , Oba Kizito Oba while Jamiu Ayanwale lost to Ghana’s Abrefa Derek .
Fatimo Bello is expected to be awarded a place in 2020 ITTF Africa Cup in Tunisia .
