ITTF Elections : Tikon , Oshodi, Bankole makes history

It is unprecedented in the history of World Table Tennis that a country have four persons in the Boards of the Federation .
But at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) held on Wednesday November 24 in Houston, Texas , in the United States , Four Nigerians made history.
Nigeria’s Ishaku Tikon , who is the president of Nigeria Table Tennis Federation and Deputy President , ITTF-Africa Western Region was elected as a member of the Veteran Committee of the International Table Tennis Federation .
From a club owner to his massive contribution both financially and in capacity building , Tikon has developed Table Tennis from amateur to the professional level .
Also elected into the International Table Tennis Federation is Nigeria’s Enitan Oshodi , who is now an Executive Vice President of the governing body .
Oshodi will serve along seven other Executive Vice Presidents elected at the AGM .
The Deputy President of African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) has made landmark achievements in the sports .
Anderson Bankole and Banji Oladapo were also elected into the Para-Table Tennis Commission and Board of Directors respectively .
Both has contributed massively to the contribution of Table Tennis in the Africa Region .
Meanwhile , Egypt’s Alaa Meshref was reelected into the Executive Committee (EC) of ITTF , making it two representatives from Africa at the Executive Committee for the first time .
