Paolo Rossi, the star of Italy’s 1982 World Cup-winning team, has died at the age of 64
1982 World Cup Golden Boot and Golden Ball winner and winner of the Ballon d’Or same year , Paolo Rossi , is dead.
The former Juventus and AC Milan player died in the early hours of Thursday as announced by Italian TV channel RAI Sport, for whom Rossi had been working as a pundit.
Enrico Varriale , a RAI Sports presenter tweeted “A very sad news: Paolo Rossi left us,”
“Unforgettable Pablito, who made us all fall in love in that summer of ‘82 and who has been a precious and competent workmate at RAI in recent years. RIP dear Paolo.”
Rossi won two Italian titles , a European Cup and two Copa Italia with Juventus but he will be fondly remembered by his six goals at the 1982 World Cup in Spain .
