The Director of grassroots sports in the ministry of Youth and Sports , Dr Ademola Are , has responded to the allegations made by the President of Esports Federation of Nigeria , Agbor Clinton , that the ministry is unduly interfering in the leadership crisis rocking the federation .

“ We are calling on the youth and sports- loving President Muhammadu Buhari to please call Sunday Dare to order not to destroy the gamers common in Nigeria “ According to Agbor Clinton in a statement published by Daily Trust .
The signed statement further revealed that the interference by the Sport ministry will cost the federation at the global stage .

“ the federation is urging President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the aid of the federation so as to prevent the possible sanctions looming from international bodies over the major setback caused by the ministry “

In his reaction to the allegations , Demola Are exposed the falseness of the allegation stating why the board of Agbor Clinton is illegal having not met the requirement of the Sports Ministry .

”The Clinton led board is illegal, they registered as Esports Nigeria League as (NGO) which was earlier approved by the sports ministry, but after much investigation, their approval was withdrawn”.

”Because the sports minister, Sunday Dare gave the order for the right process to be followed to create the Esports federation. We called them for a zoom meeting to bring all the stakeholders together, but the Clinton led board refused to partake in the process”.

According to him ”We later held an election which was supervised by the sports ministry and the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) which an interim official was elected, but they have not been inaugurated officially by the sports ministry”.
