
THROWBACK : 50TH ASOJU OBA CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS ON A POSITIVE NOTE

The 2018 Asoju Oba tournament kicks off today with glamour and positive anticipation amongst all stakeholders.
Schools such as Greensprings and Indian Language are battle ready for the junior and Cadet category.
The tournament accont for over two hundred and thirty- eight entries on the first day.
The Junior Boys Singles has the highest entries of seventy while the Men’s Singles entries comes second with sixty –four entries , third is the cadet boys singles comes in the male category.
The Women Singles comes third with twenty-three entries in the female category, while the cadet girls and Junior Girls comes second and first respectively with a total of thirty- nine entries.
The events commenced with the screening of Players by Femi George with the tournament longest serving umpire, John Peters supervising the proceedings.
While the seedings was complied by Ranti Lajide.
According to John Peters, more entries are expected tomorrow.
It is also noteworthy that Lagos state has reaffirms more support for the championship to ensure as usual that the tournament is hitch free .
