WTT Contender Tunis : Omotayo ousted by Czech star , ranked 325th

2019 African Games Gold medalist , Nigeria’s Omotayo Olajide has been sent packing from the ongoing WTT Contender in Tunis after suffering a 3-0 defeat from Czech Republic’s Jiri Martinko, who was the star player on day one of the qualifying round in the men’s singles .

Olajide , ranked 88th wouldn’t march the superiority of the European , who made his intention from the first game winning 11-5 , the 325 ranked player repeated the same in the second game  to take the second lead 12-10 .

From the start of the third game , the Czech push through to record an 11-4 lead to complete a 3-0 win over Omotayo.

Meanwhile , Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri has  been seeded as number two in the Men’s Singles behind Germany’s Patrick Franziska while Egypt’s Dina Meshref is the number five seed in the Women’s Singles.

The WTT Contender in Tunis is the first WTT Contender to take place in Africa as world’s best table tennis players converge at the Salle Omnisport de Rades for the $75,000  WTT Contender Tunis  prize money.
