2021 Aso Table Tennis National Championship: Another Mustapha emerge


The journey begins.

Just like his  brothers, the sensational Mustapha brothers , who were discovered at the 2017 Aso Table Tennis National Championship, Muddasir Mustapha, the fifth in line of the Mustaphas have played his first ever tournament in a bid to emulate his brothers.

Born 8 years ago, Muddasir, a student of Sound academy School, Gwarinpa, Abuja, lost his first ever competitive game in the mini-cadet category to Adebakin Tobi of Lagos 3-0 (3-11, 5-11, 6-11).

Few weeks ago, his brothers; Musa Mustapha became the second Africa to become world number one in ITTF ranking as he emerges world number one ranked player in the boys’ U-11 by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) While Mustapha Mustapha is rated 18th in the U-13 category.

There are handful table tennis players that took part as a cadet and junior players in the Aso Table Tennis National Championship that have become National players.
