Gernot Rohr in line to be the coach of Black Stars of Ghana


Two days after Ghana Football Association parted ways with Coach Milovan Rajevac , former Super Eagles Coach , Gernot Rohr have shown interest in the vacant post for the Black stars coach position.

Gernot Rohr, who was until December 12, the coach of the Super Eagles believes he has the capacity to turn the fortunes of the Ghana National Team around, the German tactics qualified Nigeria for the ongoing AFCON and the World Cup playoff.

“Gernot Rohr is very much open to the Ghana job. Ghana football has great potential and his experience of the African game will help him steer the team in the right direction”, a source close to the coach said.

In a related development, A Ghanaian Lawmaker, Patrick Boamah representing Okaikwei Central district has told his fellow parliamentarians that the Ghanaian National Team known as the Black Stars of Ghana cannot beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their forthcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying encounter citing the poor performance of the team at the ongoing 2021 African Nations Cup in Cameroon .

While speaking during the deliberation session of the team’s performance on the floor of the parliament, Patrick Boamah urged the nation to forfeit their match with the Eagles.

He said, “If need be, dissolve our national team, and prepare our national team for the next five years, so that we don’t waste our time in playing Nigeria in the next World Cup qualifier. Because look at the team Nigeria has even though they’re out of the tournament. But I don’t think with the current setup, we can stand the Nigerians,” Boamah stated.

The four-time Africa Champion exited the competition in the group stage with just a point as they failed to win a game for the first time in the history of the competition.
