The President of Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Engineer Ishaku Tikon, has extols the remarkable feat of Musa Mustapha and his brother, Mustapha Mustapha, for making Nigeria and Africa proud.
He made this known at the Press conference of the 14th Aso Table Tennis Club National Championship held on Saturday in Abuja, according to the President “the remarkable feat achieved by the brothers is not easy and there is a need to recognize their efforts “
Few weeks ago, 11-year-old Musa Mustapha was named the number one ranked player in the boys’ U-11 by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), while his elder brother, Mustapha is rated 18th in U-13 category.
With this development, Musa became the second African to be rated number one in the world after Hana Goda was in 2020 named the best U-15 girls in the world.
While inviting the brothers to the high table, the President also praised their father for taking the sport serious.
“We will support their father so that the height they (brothers) want to achieve would be attainable “
Since his assumption of office as the President of Nigeria Table Tennis in 2017 , Engineer Ishaku Tikon have supported and encouraged the development of cadet players in the country .
The Abuja-based brothers made their senior debut at the 2018 Nigeria Open in Lagos and they are expected to be part of the World Youth Series taking place later this year in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
