Nigeria’s Samuel Boboye was dealt an unthinkable quarter-finals exit at the ITTF Africa Western Championships taking place at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Telsim Balogun stadium in Surulere , Lagos .

 

Crowned Cadet champion in the same venue at the NTTF Championship in May but in-form Samuel wouldn’t replicate same performance against Commey Emmanuel of Ghana after the visitor pulled off a shocking comeback from 0-2 down to stun the 17-yer-old 4-3 to proceed to the men’s singles final .

 

In the second round of the men’s singles , Boboye accounted for the defeat of the defending Champion , Cote d’voire’s Oba Kizito 3-2 .

 

Meanwhile , it is a Nigerian affair at the semifinals of the women’s singles as the quartets of Fatimo Bello , Esther Oribamise , Bose Odunsanya and Fashola Aminat will slug it out for a place in the final .

 

Earlier , the duo of Azeez Solanke and Fatimo Bello won the mixed doubles event , the four-days event will end tomorrow as more titles will be decided.
